Celebrate Good Times

So after a long sad week, Shay and I were lucky enough to have a fun weekend to look forward to. On Friday night my roommates and I had a slumber party in Montgomery. It was such a fun time. We went out to dinner and then went back to Mary's to stay up late talking and have strawberry cake. The cake was mainly to celebrate Megan's birthday but there is a lot more for us to celebrate. Brooke recently moved to Auburn, which puts her closer to us and makes getting together easier and hopefully more frequent. Mary is pregnant with her 3rd baby. We are very excited about having another little Sanders running around, the first two are so darn cute. And last but not least, Megan is pregnant with TWINS!! They will be the first for Meg and we couldn't be more excited for her. Mary and Megan are due within two weeks of each other so we will be having babies back to back. It is going to be a big time for all us, I can't wait.

On Saturday, Shay and I headed to Birmingham to celebrate our best friend Adam's 30th birthday. I don't know if I have mentioned this before but we love that Adam married one of my college friends Amy. It makes our get together way too much fun. I only wish we got to do it more often. We stayed up until 2 am talking and laughing. I was super tired the next day but we were having so much fun I think I would have stayed up all night. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. I'm so excited that it is almost football season and we will get to see them every game we go to. Great friends, great celebrations. A much needed weekend.

Category: Best Big Sister Ever

And the Award goes to.....drum roll......ME!! Yes, me, I win big sister of the year. You probably can't tell from these pictures because they are from my cell phone but they were taken at the Jonas Brothers concert. On Sunday night I took my 13 year old sister Daphna to Birmingham to see the Jo Bros. My parents bought the tickets for her birthday and I agreed to take her. Lucky me...ha ha. Actually, minus the screaming, and you can imagine in a civic center full of teenage girls how much screaming there was, it was a really good show. I don't mind the music they sing and I know some of their songs from Daphna, if you have been around her any in the last 2 years these boys are ALL she talks about (and that is not an exaggeration). She has even taught Mary Selwyn the chorus to "Burning Up." MSN dances and sings this song all the time. It is hilarious. It was a fun tirp, almost made me feel 13 again, but boy am I glad that I'm not. So I win big sister of the year and now I am super cool because I have seen the Jonas Brothers live in concert. I know you are all jealous.

I happen to still be in montgomery becasue in the midst of all this fun Shay's family suffered a very devastating loss. Shay's cousin Lee died Sunday morning at the very young age of 33. He left behind a precious wife, Caroline, and two sweet babies, Ann, 2, and Matt will be a year old next week. It has been a long, emotional and heartbreaking week. Please keep the family in your in prayers. The preacher used a verse during the service that has really stayed with me this week. John 16:33 "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

Two in the bed and the little one said....

Roll over....roll over....My little Adeline rolled over today for the very first time. She has been so close for the last month or more but has been a little lazy. All she needed to do was pick up her head and wiggle a little bit and she could have done it a long time ago, however, I am in no hurry for her to grow up so I don't mind her taking her sweet time. It is also a nice change of pace from her sister who did everything so early she didn't seem like she was a "baby baby" for long.

I'm proud of my little punkin and I am so glad I actually got to watch her do it for the first time instead of just finding her in her bed on her belly. So far she is not a big fan of the result of this milestone. She gets on her stomach and makes a few loud noises and then decides she doesn't like being on her tummy and begins to cry. It is so funny to me that she now insists on turning bV over when I lay her down but cries once she does. It is cute. Sorry I was a little late in starting my recording but you get to see most of it.

Here are some pictures from our beach trip with our cousin's Blake, Amanda, Callie and Natalie Reese I'm just getting around to sharing. We had a wonderful trip. When we weren't wearing bathing suits we were wearing our pajamas. We were the definition of beach bums the whole weekend. The girls had so much fun playing together.
